Yuli Kusworo is coordinator and one of the founders of Arkomjogja in Indonesia. Arkomjogja is an organization of community architects who work with urban poor, marginalized and disaster-prone or –affected communities.
Yuli has worked on several important projects, including Development and Peace’s reconstruction program in Indonesia after the 2004 Tsunami.
In addition to his work with Arkomjogja in the historical city of Yogyakarta where he has helped people in slums improve their living conditions and multiple projects all over Indonesia that promote sustainable housing that respects local traditions, he is also acting as a consultant on Development and Peace’s reconstruction program in the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. He has won several awards including the Habitat Day Award from the Government of Indonesia.
