2015 Share Lent campaign resources

Almost one billion people still suffer from hunger on our planet. That 1 in 9 people are hungry on a daily basis is a scandal that we must face together, as one human family. It is only through a united spirit of solidarity that we will be able to end this grave injustice.

When he launched the Caritas campaign to end hunger, Pope Francis invited each of us to make space in our hearts “for this emergency of respecting the God-given rights of everyone to have access to adequate food.” By leading the Share Lent campaign in your community, you are joining members of Development and Peace across Canada and people of faith around the world who are acting in charity and justice to ensure that we all share in the abundance of the Earth that God created for all.

From the Share Lent Liturgical Resources to the Mini-magazine to the Prayer Card, we hope that this material will help you raise awareness about the issue of global hunger and raise funds for the urgent and necessary work of Development and Peace around the world. Thanks to your commitment and the generous donations we receive, Development and Peace is working to build a more just food system, and a more just world.

In the face of conflicts, climate change, and decreasing access to land, water and seeds, Development and Peace’s partners around the world are sowing seeds of justice to ensure that small family farmers can feed themselves and their communities.

You can use this app to guide you through the Lenten season with three simple steps each day: Learn, Pray and Act.
