Each year during Lent, Canadian Catholics are invited to stand in solidarity with communities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East who are struggling for dignity and justice.
We have so much love to give. By opening our hearts during this Lenten season, we can contribute to building a world rooted in justice, equality, compassion and love. By sharing with the world’s poorest people, we are walking the path that Jesus walked.
Focusing on the role of women and men family farmers in fighting hunger, Development and Peace invites you to continue to raise your voice with Catholics and people around the world who are calling for an end to hunger through the “One human family, food for all” campaign launched by Pope Francis in 2013.
Jesus taught us to pray ‘Give us this day our daily bread’. The significance of this prayer for millions around the world is easy to forget for those of us who so easily and confidently access food every day. Hunger is not caused by a lack of food but by a lack of justice. With your generous donations, Development and Peace is working to build a more just food system, and a more just world.
