Canadian Government will match donations for the Sahel (West Africa)

The Government of Canada announced on Tuesday, August 7th, that it will match dollar for dollar donations made to registered Canadian charities between August 7th and September 30th for the humanitarian crisis in the Sahel region of West Africa.

Development and Peace is eligible for this matching program. The Canadian Government will place a sum equivalent to contributions made by donors to Development and Peace in the Sahel Crisis Matching Fund. Money from this fund will then be allocated by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to established Canadian and international humanitarian organizations for humanitarian assistance efforts that benefit the people most affected by the crisis.
