A culminating moment for the Voice for Justice campaign
A Voice for Justice was heard on May 14th!
On May 14th, hundreds from across Canada gathered on Parliament Hill to call for an ombudsman for the extractive sector to give communities negatively impacted by Canadian mining companies in the Global South a Voice for Justice.
A rally was held at noon where Members of Parliament were invited to receive cards signed by their constituents asking for an ombudsman.
Since launching this campaign in September, over 80,000 people have expressed their support for this call and the rally was a culminating moment where Canadians showed that they are concerned about the actions of our companies overseas.
