In June 2016, eight Development and Peace members from Eastern Québec will be travelling to Cambodia with their regional animators for 20 days. They will be visiting the regions of Phnom Phen, Kampot, Siem Reap, Battambang and Ratanakiri.
A dream is coming true. A solidarity stay is taking shape and coming to life after weeks of preparation. The 10 people participating in the trip are truly excited.
Up and ready to roll at 4 a.m. in Montreal on June 1st, we down a group breakfast, pitch our luggage in the shuttle bus for the airport, do the usual check-in, and burst into uncontrollable laughter when we see our friend Martine’s passport photo … even the officer can’t keep a straight face. We’ve made his day, that’s for sure!
Checking in our luggage, then going through security, where we have to gulp down our water bottles at full speed … but where’s the bathroom anyways?!
It’s 3:30 a.m. back home in Quebec after 2 plane rides, including a 13 hour + flight to Seoul, the capital of South Korea … we’re a little worse for wear but about to board the plane for Cambodia where we’ll meet Development and Peace’s partners, with an unforgettable experience ahead!
