June 7, 2012
It was almost a year ago that a drought in the Horn of Africa put millions of people at risk of hunger. In response, Development and Peace launched an appeal that raised over $7 million for relief efforts.
This June marks the end of the first phase of our response to this humanitarian crisis. Over 350,000 people were reached with the projects put in place. A second round of projects that are focused on food security, community resilience and conflict resolution are now being implemented.
We have just released a new report that is an update on our response in the region.
