A fun idea for your summer vacation

Summer is just around the corner and for those of you haven’t yet planned your vacation, we thought we would share a suggestion in the context of Development and Peace’s Jubilee celebrations this year: why not do a pilgrimage to celebrate?

If you are in Quebec, you can already find several organized pilgrimages. For example, each year, for 12 years, a group of pilgrims has travelled the 67 kilometres of route separating Alma from Ermitage du Lac Bouchette. That’s what a group of members of the Diocese of Chicoutimi will do the 11, 12 and 13 of June. It isn’t too late to join them by registering directly with the pilgrimage organisation of St-Antoine as soon as possible. Fill out this form, print it and mail it with your payment ($40). www.pelerinagestantoine.qc.ca

You might also want to create your own group in your region. Here are a couple of other ideas for pilgrimages in Québec.  Similar circuits don’t seem to exist in other parts of Canada, but some of you might be inspired by the story of Elizabeth Brown who made her own personal pilgrimage along the Trans Canada Trail.

If you do find yourself doing a pilgrimage this summer, we encourage you to send us a story about your experience, along with photos so we can share them with our readers.

Get set, get ready….walk!!
